WSC4 Seabird Photo Contest
We are pleased to introduce the inaugural WSC4 Seabird Photo Contest, open to all conference participants, whether attending in Hobart or online.
All entries must be submitted electronically. Selected images will be displayed on screens during the Conference Welcome Reception on Monday evening and throughout the morning and afternoon refreshment breaks from Tuesday to Thursday.

Entry Requirements
- The principal subject of each image must be a seabird.
- Entries must be submitted in electronic format.
- Each image must include a watermark showing the photographer’s name and the photograph number (if submitting multiple entries).
- The watermark must be in Calibri font and occupy no more than 5% of the total image area.
Judging and Awards
An independent panel of judges will evaluate all eligible entries and award First, Second, and Third prizes. The judges’ decision is final.
A People’s Choice Award will also be determined by conference participants through the conference app.
Prize winners will be announced during the Conference Dinner on Thursday evening. Participants who are unable to attend will be notified after the event.
After the Conference
All submitted entries will be made available on the World Seabird Union website after 10 August 2026.
